Heisman Hopefuls: Bradford brings home the hardware
Friday, December 12th, 2008The Heisman picture is a two-man race with the regular season over and the Heisman ceremony this Saturday. Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford and Florida’s Tim Tebow are clearly a cut above the rest of the class this year.
Bradford has the stats and the results that come with being part of the No. 1 team in the country. He was consistent all season picking apart defenses. But Tebow is the returning champ and at times carried Florida emotionally to the national championship game.
It will be a tight vote. But Tebow did not repeat his stats despite becoming a better quarterback this season. Bradford has the stats and the leadership ability to etch his name in Heisman history.
Big Ten Preview: Spartans have BCS on their minds
Thursday, November 20th, 2008No. 17 MICHIGAN STATE (9-2, 6-1) at No. 7 PENN STATE (10-1, 6-1)
Time: 2:30 p.m.

What’s at stake: Two teams enter, one leaves as Big Ten champion. Or co-champion. Penn State is the only team that controls its destiny in the conference. If they win, they go the Rose Bowl. If Michigan State wins, Ohio State will have to lose to Michigan to win the Big Ten title.

Fearless Forecasters: The Bowl SAT is now in session

National Preview: Sooners stop Red Raiders’ run to BCS crown
Thursday, November 20th, 2008#2 Texas Tech (10-0) AT #5 Oklahoma (9-1)
Saturday, Nov. 22, 7 p.m. CT, ABC
Line: Oklahoma by 7
It is tough to find an advantage between these two Big 12 South teams heading into their clash. The Sooners rank No. 1 in the nation in scoring offense, the Red Raiders are third. Oklahoma is fourth in total offense, Texas Tech is second. Offensively, these two teams might draw. So in a conference marked this year by its incredibly strong offenses and fantastic quarterbacks, its best game will be determined by who can actually get a stop.
